Qualcomm is more famous for the Snapdragon processor that powers many a smartphone that actual consumer devices. But here we are with a pretty and wearable smartwatch. This watch connects to your Android smartphone (version 4.0.3; Jelly Bean and above preferred) to deliver notifications and control to your wrist. With the optional Bluetooth earplugs you can use it to play music and answer telephone calls.
It is using Qualcomm’s Mirasol screen technology which apparently is as easy to see in bright sunlight as it is at night. I’m not sure what apps you can connect to it but I have a feeling you can get notifications from any app. Don’t quote me on that though.
The screen can be customized to display different things in different styles and it is always on. Unlike your smartphone, you don’t need to press a button to see the time.
On the downside, you need to charge it every couple of days. It does come with a pretty cool wireless charger for both the headset and the watch though.
It’s up for pre-order from today at Qualcomm and is officially on sale December 2nd 3013.
