It’s no secret that I am a fan of the Chromebook. I have two of them, the Samsung Chromebook, which my wife uses and the Toshiba Chromebook 2 which I use now.
The new Chromebook Pixel is a beautiful looking device and from what I am reading around the web, it is lightning fast.
The previous Chromebook Pixel was heavier, much more expensive and had a much shorter battery life so I wasn’t the least bit interested. The new Chromebook Pixel has addressed all those issues though. The weight went from 1.52kg to 1.5kg. OK, that is just a slight drop but because of the longer battery life (about 6 to 12 hours) you wouldn’t need to carry the charger with you in many cases. The price went from $1500 to $1000 though and that is a big jump.
It has the new USB-C standard ports which is great too but OK, I’m not quite ready to jump on the Pixel train yet. Here is what I would like to see:
- Weight: 1.3kg
- Battery Life: 21 hours
- Price: $500
